Blue-eyed Benji Gregory, a talented individual, was born in Encino, California to Manny and Patti Gregory. He had an older sister, Becky, and a younger brother, Matthew. His family background was replete with individuals from the acting profession, as his father, uncle, and sister were all actors. Additionally, his grandmother served as his agent, highlighting the strong family ties to the industry.
Benji's early life was marked by his frequent appearances in commercials, which could be said to have accelerated his growth in front of the camera. By the tender age of five, he began auditioning for television roles and secured numerous parts. His acting career kicked off with an episode of Fantasy Island in 1977, followed by guest-starring appearances on The A-Team in 1983, T.J. Hooker in 1982, Amazing Stories in 1985, and The Twilight Zone in 1985. Furthermore, he landed roles in a TV pilot, "Fenster Hall", a Disney movie, Mr. Boogedy in 1986, a TV movie, Thompson's Last Run in 1986, and the feature film, Jumpin' Jack Flash in 1986.
Benji's life took a different turn when he joined the United States Navy and pursued a career as an Aerographer's Mate, specializing in Navy Weather, at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi.
