Bijou Phillips' life has been marked by an eclectic blend of experiences and pursuits. Born in New York, she spent her formative years in California and South Africa, where she developed a passion for equestrian sports. At the tender age of 13, she embarked on a modeling career, which allowed her to escape the confines of boarding school and soon found herself gracing the covers of esteemed publications such as "Interview" Magazine and "Italian Vogue". This early success led to numerous advertising campaigns for Calvin Klein.
As she entered her late teens, Bijou turned her attention to music, securing a record deal and working on her debut album "I'd Rather Eat Glass" under the guidance of Talking Heads' Jerry Harrison.
