Robert George Barrett was born on March 31st, 1966, and embarked on his educational journey by attending Bedford School as a boarder, laying the foundation for his future endeavors. He then enrolled at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where he honed his craft and prepared for a successful career in the performing arts.
Barrett made his stage debut in 1991, marking the beginning of a remarkable journey that would take him to some of the most renowned theatres in the country. His impressive stage roster boasts numerous appearances at the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh, where he has captivated audiences with his performances in productions such as 'The Recruiting Officer', 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', 'Guys and Dolls', and 'Dancing at Lughnasa'.
In addition to his work at the Royal Lyceum Theatre, Barrett has also had the privilege of collaborating with the all-male Propeller company, bringing to life iconic characters in productions such as 'The Taming of the Shrew' and 'Twelfth Night' at the Old Vic. His impressive repertoire also includes roles in the Watermill Theatre's productions and the Chichester Festival Theatre's version of 'Nicholas Nickleby', which was accompanied by a national tour.
In 1992, Barrett appeared on the London stage in 'Cyrano de Bergerac', where he met and later married fellow cast member Rebecca Charles, with whom he has two beautiful daughters. The following year, he made his television debut in 'The Inspector Alleyn Mysteries', paving the way for a successful career in television.
Since then, Barrett has appeared in numerous popular dramas, including 'Holby City', in which he has held a recurring role as Dr. Sacha Levy since 2010. Throughout his career, Barrett has consistently demonstrated his exceptional talent and versatility, earning him a reputation as one of the most respected and accomplished actors of his generation.
