Brad McMurray is a renowned Australian actor with a career spanning over two decades in film, television, and theatre. Born in Sydney, Australia in 1971, Brad grew up with a creative spark and passion for martial arts, achieving a 2nd degree Black Belt.
After 12 years as a chef, Brad's love for performing led him to pursue acting, initially landing small roles in commercials, television series, and feature films. His talent was quickly recognized, and he graduated from Queensland University of Technology's Bachelor of Fine Arts (Acting) degree in 2005.
Brad's early career included playing the lead in the graduating class's production of Bertolt Brecht's BAAL, directed by acclaimed theatre director, Michael Gow. He has since appeared in numerous productions, including the long-awaited sequel to Blue Murder, alongside Richard Roxburgh, and the four-part SBS series, Dead Lucky, opposite Rachel Griffiths.
Recent credits include a recurring role on the popular Home & Away, as well as in the hit television series, Neighbours, and the critically acclaimed film, PAWNO. Brad has also worked with Hollywood luminaries such as Harvey Keitel, Cuba Gooding Jr, and Ray Liotta, and is known for his roles in the popular Australian series, Sea Patrol, and the worldwide hit series, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries.
In addition to his screen work, Brad maintains a strong connection to theatre, having performed in productions such as The Crucible and Pygmalion with the Queensland Theatre Company. With a strong physicality and intensity, Brad brings a unique range to his performances, showcasing both brutal and raw expressions of character and nuanced, emotionally engaging performances.
Aside from his acting career, Brad continues to train in martial arts and weapons, and has developed an interest in stunt work. He still enjoys cooking and is known for his culinary skills, able to whip up a mean soufflé.
