Brendan Mackey, a talented individual, hails from Northern Ireland, where his journey began. He left the confines of school at the tender age of 16, opting instead to pursue a vocational path. For two years, he honed his skills as an apprentice electrician, laying the foundation for a future that would take him down a vastly different route.
However, fate had other plans, and Brendan's artistic inclinations soon took center stage. He auditioned for a prestigious scholarship to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA),and his talents were deemed worthy of recognition. With his apprenticeship abandoned, Brendan made the bold decision to leave his hometown and relocate to the bustling metropolis of London, where he now resides.
Since graduating from drama school, Brendan has gone on to secure leading roles in a variety of films, each showcasing his impressive range as an actor. He has starred in Les Blair's critically acclaimed "H3," which earned him the Golden Rosa Award at the Bergamo Film Festival. His portrayal of a complex character in Lab Ky Mo's cult comedy "Nine Dead Gay Guys" garnered widespread recognition, including the Best Feature award at the Montreal Comedy Film Festival.
Brendan's impressive resume also boasts Marion Comer's "Boxed," which took home the Best Feature award at the Boston Film Festival. Most recently, he has lent his talents to Kevin MacDonald's highly acclaimed "Touching the Void," a multi-award-winning film that won the prestigious BAFTA for Best Film in 2004.
