Brent Fidler was destined to portray characters that have a profound spiritual impact, as evidenced by his first stage role at the tender age of six, where he played the tavern owner who ejected Mary Magdalene from the inn and into the manger. As the founder of his own theater and film company, Theater Crossing, Fidler has produced a diverse array of acclaimed productions in Canada and Los Angeles, which celebrate the intricate relationship between the physical and spiritual worlds.
Fidler's fascination with the gothic canon has led him to take on iconic roles such as Dracula, Frankenstein, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, and Edgar Allan Poe. He has also had the opportunity to embody the legendary Sherlock Holmes, a role that holds a special place in his heart. In addition to his stage work, Fidler has adapted his plays of Poe and Macbeth into screenplays, which have garnered the attention of prominent Hollywood producers such as Doug Claybourne and Janis Chastin at New Line Cinema.
As a testament to his exceptional talent, Fidler was granted a permanent resident card by the American government, citing his status as an "alien of extraordinary ability." Fidler humbly accepts this label, at least in part.
In Los Angeles, Fidler has worked on several low-budget horror films for Lion's Gate, directed by Michael Feifer and Andy Hurst. He has also had the privilege of collaborating with the legendary Al Pacino on his self-produced docu-drama Salomaybe, during which he had the opportunity to witness Janis Chastin's captivating performance of the Dance of the Seven Veils.
Fidler is the proud recipient of a Best Actor in a Dramatic Series LEO award for his chilling performance in the series "First Wave," produced by Larry Sugar and Frances Ford Coppola. He has also produced, starred in, and directed the first feature film about the life of American horror legend Edgar Allan Poe, which premiered at the Cinema City International Film Festival at Universal Studios in Los Angeles and aired nationally on Bravo.
Throughout his career, Fidler's work has primarily focused on the sci-fi/fantasy/horror genres, with upcoming projects including the series "Limetown" and "Batwoman." In addition to his film and television work, Fidler has recently completed his first novel, Shadows of Nagasaki, a sci-fi nuclear karma tale that explores the nuclear shadow victims of the Nagasaki atomic bombing, who reanimate as Yurei demons seeking revenge on the descendants of the Los Alamos Trinity project.
Shadows of Nagasaki is set to be launched just prior to the 75th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Japan in August 2020. Fidler is represented by Esther Cohen at Characters Talent agency in Vancouver.
