Biography

Brian Gower, better known by his ring name Brian Adias, is a retired American professional wrestler who gained popularity for his appearances with World Class Championship Wrestling (WCCW). Trained by the renowned Fritz Von Erich, Adias made his debut in 1979 and went on to become a notable figure in the wrestling world.

Initially, Adias was mistakenly billed as "Brian Adidas" and appeared at Starrcade '84, defeating Mister Ito. Although fan magazines like Pro Wrestling Illustrated continued to list him as Adidas for the next two years, he was officially referred to as Adias in WCCW.

Adias formed a strong alliance with the Von Erich family, wrestling alongside them until 1986 when he turned heel against Mike Von Erich in a singles match. This marked the beginning of a feud with the Von Erichs, during which Adias declared his desire to succeed on his own merits and accused the Von Erichs of holding him back. He formed an alliance with Al Madril, which was dubbed "The Duo of Doom."

The feud between Adias and the Von Erichs was intense, with Kerry Von Erich confronting Adias regarding his actions. Despite being in crutches due to a motorcycle accident, Kerry was attacked by Madril, with Adias standing idly by. The incident led to an angle where Kerry's brother Kevin came to his aid and launched an attack on Madril.

Adias and Madril went on to win the World Class Tag Team Championship, while their feud with the Von Erichs continued through the summer of 1987. In one notable incident, Kevin collapsed during an eight-man tag match involving Adias, which set up an angle where he developed his version of the Oriental Spike, a move made famous by Terry Gordy, and called it the "Oriental Tool."

Adias continued his heel run until he eventually turned to playing the babyface in the Global Wrestling Federation. He later turned to sales work, only wrestling sporadically for the rest of the decade. Adias resurfaced for a while in the GWF during its run on ESPN in the early 1990s before retiring from wrestling completely in 2000.

Today, Adias is involved in real estate sales and owns NTXHOMEZONE with his partner Chad Odom.
