Brigitte Nielsen, a multifaceted personality, was born on July 15, 1963, in Rødovre, Denmark, a suburb of Copenhagen. At the tender age of sixteen, she left her family to pursue a modeling career, working with renowned fashion designers such as Giorgio Armani, Gianni Versace, and Gianfranco Ferré. She divided her time between New York, Paris, Milan, and Berlin, becoming a prominent figure in the fashion world.
In 1983, she married Danish musician Kasper Winding, and a year later, their son Julian was born. However, her acting career took precedence, and she left her husband and son to focus on her film endeavors. Her breakout role in Red Sonja (1985) opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger was a significant success, and she went on to act in Rocky IV (1985) alongside her future husband, Sylvester Stallone.
Stallone and Nielsen met during the promotional tour for Red Sonja in the summer of 1985, and after six months, they tied the knot in Malibu. However, their marriage was short-lived, lasting only 19 months before they divorced. In 1987, she acted in Beverly Hills Cop II, directed by Tony Scott, alongside Eddie Murphy, Paul Reiser, and Chris Rock.
Nielsen's career continued to flourish, with roles in Italian television shows, music albums, and films. She released her debut dance album, "Every Body Tells a Story," and a pop single, "Body Next to Body," with Austrian singer Falco. Her personal life was also eventful, as she met football player Mark Gastineau in 1988 and gave birth to her second son, Killian, in 1989.
In 1990, she married photographer/director Sebastian Copeland, with whom she recorded another album, "I'm the One...Nobody Else." However, their marriage was short-lived, and she went on to marry Swiss/Italian Raoul Meyer in 1993, with whom she had her third son, Douglas Aaron.
Throughout her career, Nielsen has appeared in numerous films, including The Double 0 Kid, Fantaghirò 2, and Chained Heat 2. She has also worked in European television and has released several dance music singles. In recent years, she has participated in reality television shows, including La talpa, The Surreal Life, and Strange Love.
Nielsen currently resides in Milan, Italy, and the United States, dividing her time between the two locations.
