Person Biography:
Born into a Malaysian family of Pakistani-Malay-Thai descent, Bront began his acting career on television in 2000. He gained recognition for his dual roles in the television series Cinta Tsunami in 2005, which marked the beginning of his journey in the entertainment industry.
Education:
In 2005, Bront received a scholarship from the Italian government to attend a short course in Language & Culture at the University for Foreigners Perugia, Italy. Although he overstayed his scholarship, he spent four months touring the country, gaining valuable experiences and insights.
Career:
Bront's breakthrough came in 2008 with the release of SinDarEla, his biggest commercial success to date. He then starred in the hit television series Rona Roni Macaroni alongside Sharifah Amani and Remy Ishak.
Film Career:
Uncomfortable with his career direction, Bront shifted his focus to film roles. His first major role was in V3:Samseng Jalanan, starring alongside his friend Farid Kamil, who also directed the movie. The film was a commercial success and received positive reviews.
Awards and Recognition:
Bront received the Best Actor award at the 23rd Malaysia Film Festival and the Anugerah Skrin 2010 (Screen Award 2010) for his performance in Belukar. He also won the Best Performance in a Comedic Role at the Astro Warna Award for his role in Sejoli.
Other Ventures:
In 2010, Bront co-founded Otto Films, a production company that produced the feature film Kolumpo in 2013. He also served as Creative Consultant for Camwerk Studios and secured a co-production deal with RexMedia (US) at the Marche Du Film at Festival De Cannes (2013).
Recent Projects:
Bront is set to appear in the upcoming film Terbaik Dari Langit, scheduled for release on December 25, 2014.
