Brooke Mills, a striking redhead actress and dancer, made a fleeting yet impactful appearance in a limited number of films and television shows before her career unfortunately came to a premature close. Born Dolores Ann Williams on January 17, 1949, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Mills initially debuted in the uncredited role of a model in the 1968 film Live a Little, Love a Little.
Mills' most notable performance was as the erratic and animated Harrad, a pathetic heroin addict prison inmate, in Jack Hill's cult classic drive-in exploitation film The Big Doll House (1971). Her other memorable roles include the troubled Grace MacDonald in the unusual horror feature Dream No Evil (1970),the unhinged Leslie Dean in the seedy Will to Die (1971),and the liberated photography teacher Tracy Davis in the delightfully fun The Student Teachers (1973).
In addition to her film appearances, Mills also had guest spots on various television shows, including The F.B.I. (1965),Night Gallery (1969),Mod Squad (1968),Mission: Impossible (1966),Marcus Welby, M.D. (1969),Barbary Coast (1975),and Police Story (1973). Unfortunately, Mills decided to retire from acting in 1977, bringing an end to her relatively short but eventful career.
