Carl is a multi-talented individual with a diverse range of creative pursuits. As a writer, he has contributed to several notable television shows, including The Bends for FX, Tommy, starring Edie Falco, for CBS, The Deuce, a creation of David Simon and George Pelecanos, for HBO, The Chameleon for Netflix, and Vinyl, from executive producers Mick Jagger, Martin Scorsese, and Terence Winter, also for HBO.
In addition to his work in television, Carl is the author of Twisted Head: An Italian American Memoir, published by Random House, which is based on his solo show of the same name. His plays have been presented at numerous esteemed venues across the country, including the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center, where he has been a part of three seasons, Yale Repertory Theatre, the Vineyard Theater, Theater for the New City, and many others.
As an actor, Carl is perhaps most recognizable for his portrayal of Little Paulie Germani on HBO's The Sopranos. He has also appeared in several iconic indie films, including Five Corners and Mac. Born and raised in the Bronx, Carl is a native New Yorker who currently resides in Manhattan.
