Carsten, a multifaceted individual, embarked on a journey to become a renowned actor and producer, following his graduation from The Oxford School of Drama in the year 2000. This marked the beginning of his professional acting career, as he made his debut in a West End production of Noel Coward's "Semi Monde".
Growing up, Carsten was raised bilingually by his British mother and German father, which led to a nomadic lifestyle, with frequent relocations to various countries such as Nigeria, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, India, and Egypt. This exposure to diverse cultures had a profound impact on his upbringing, as he often relied on school plays to satisfy his desire for entertainment, as TV and cinema were not readily available.
Notably, Carsten's early experiences in acting date back to his childhood, where he played a flying monkey in a production of "The Wizard of Oz" at the tender age of six. Clad in an itchy woolen onesie, he performed in the Arabian heat, which only fueled his passion for acting.
Years later, a serendipitous encounter at the University of St. Andrews led to his decision to pursue acting professionally. While searching for a lecture, he stumbled upon the casting for a student production of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". Encouraged to try out, he landed the role and his passion for acting was rekindled. Following two more plays and a few months, he applied to drama school, marking the beginning of his professional career.
