Catherine Cyran, a multifaceted individual, embarked on her journey in Brooklyn, where she graduated from Harvard University and subsequently relocated to London to work as a management consultant for the renowned Royal Shakespeare Company.
Following her stint in London, she returned to the United States and utilized her skills as a political issues advisor for several state and congressional campaigns in Massachusetts, further honing her abilities in the realm of politics.
After completing her studies at Stanford Business School, Catherine made the bold decision to abandon the conventional path and pursue a career in the captivating world of filmmaking, relocating to Los Angeles to pursue her dreams.
Her illustrious career in the film industry began with writing and producing low-budget movies for the esteemed Roger Corman, laying the groundwork for her future success.
Catherine's directorial debut, "White Wolves," an outdoor family adventure for Disney Channel, earned her a prestigious Daytime Emmy nomination, solidifying her position as a talented and innovative filmmaker.
She went on to write and/or direct over twenty films, including "Dangerous Waters," a river-rafting movie for The Family Channel; "Sawbones," a horror movie for Showtime, starring Adam Baldwin; "True Heart," an action-drama shot in British Columbia, starring Kirsten Dunst; and "Christmas Do-Over," a romantic comedy for ABC Family, starring Jay Mohr.
Most recently, Catherine penned "Honey 3: Dare to Dance," a hip-hop dance movie, and co-wrote "Werewolf: The Beast Among Us," a horror movie, both for Universal Studios.
In addition to her work in the film industry, Catherine has also dabbled in writing, penning a young adult novel, Island of the Last Great Auk, adapted from her screenplay, "The Last Story," set in Newfoundland, which won the 2014 Canadian International Film Festival award for excellence in writing.
Throughout her career, Catherine has continued to split her time between writing and directing, and is thrilled to announce that she has recently acquired Permanent Resident status in Canada, allowing her to satisfy all Canadian content requirements and plan for a future that includes residing in both Santa Monica and Vancouver.
