Noted political cartoonist, character designer, and children's book author and illustrator of Icelandic heritage, he is famously recognized for his creative genius in crafting and naming the beloved cartoon character, Bugs Bunny. Throughout his illustrious 10-year career (1935-1945) at America's esteemed animation studios, he meticulously designed and brought to life hundreds of captivating cartoon characters, including the enchanting Snow White, the iconic Elmer Fudd, the endearing Little Hiawatha, the charming Sniffles the Mouse, the fascinating 'Inki and the Mynah', the alluring The Lady Known as Lou, and the whimsical Twinkletoes.
In addition to his impressive portfolio of cartoon creations, he also ventured into children's literature, authoring and illustrating two delightful books, Keeko and Chee-chee and Keeko, which chronicle the thrilling adventures of Keeko, the spirited and curious little Indian (Native American) boy.
