American actor, writer, and director Chris Mulkey boasts a diverse and accomplished career in film, television, and stage, with a long list of notable credits to his name.
Best known for his roles in On the Basis of Sex (2018),Whiplash (2014),Captain Phillips (2013),Twin Peaks (1990),Castle Rock (2018),Broken Trail (2006),Any Day Now (1998),and Boardwalk Empire (2010),Chris has made a lasting impact in the entertainment industry.
Born and raised in the Midwest, Chris's passion for acting led him to major in the subject at the University of Minnesota. He spent four years as a company member of the Children's Theatre of Minneapolis, where he honed his craft and gained valuable experience.
Chris's early career took off with a starring role in Loose Ends (1975),the Grand Prize winner at the USA film Festival. He then made the move to Hollywood in 1975, where he married actress and artist Karen Landry. The couple went on to co-write and star in Patti Rocks (1988),an independent film that won the Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival.
Throughout his career, Chris and Karen have frequently collaborated on film and stage projects, working together in LA, New York, and the Twin Cities.
