Christian Kane was born in Dallas, Texas, and spent his early years moving around the Southern United States before settling down in Norman, Oklahoma. He attended the University of Oklahoma, initially planning to major in Art History, but ultimately decided to pursue a career in acting. With a few hundred dollars and his trusty truck, Kane headed to Hollywood, where he worked various jobs, including a mail-room clerk for a talent agency.
Kane's big break came when he was cast as Ryan "Flyboy" Legget, the male lead, in the TV series Fame L.A. (1997),a new show based on the hit movie and 80s TV show. He continued to work in television, appearing in the short-lived series Rescue 77 (1999),where he played the role of Wick Lobo, also known as "Cowboy," and in the popular horror/fantasy series Angel (1999),where he played the duplicitous character of Lindsey McDonald.
In addition to his television work, Kane appeared in several films, including Edtv (1999),starring Woody Harrelson, and Crossfire Trail (2001),a made-for-TV Western with Tom Selleck. He also had leading roles in the TV series Leverage (2008-2012) as Eliot Spencer, Close to Home (2005-2007),and Into the West (2005),a Stephen Spielberg/TNT miniseries.
Kane's film credits include Life or Something Like It (2002),Secondhand Lions (2003),Just Married (2003),and Friday Night Lights (2006). He continued to work in television, starring in the TV series 50 to 1 (2014) alongside Skeet Ulrich and William Devane, and The Librarians (2014) on TNT, which earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor on Television with the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror.
Kane has also collaborated with his friend Clayne Crawford on the film Tinker' (2017),which won him Best Supporting Actor at the Sutter Creek International Film Festival. He is an avid supporter of the Clayne Crawford Foundation and is known for performing his own stunts on most of his shows.
