Christopher's aspirations to join the navy were put on hold when he was discovered by an agent at the tender age of 15, leading him to become a part of the prestigious National Theatre.
This early start in his career culminated in a film role in the iconic "To Sir With Love". However, his life took an unexpected turn when he was caught driving while disqualified, resulting in a three and a half year ban from driving. It would be 17 long years before he would get behind the wheel again.
During his time on the set of "Zulu Dawn", Christopher met Caroline, an extra who would eventually become his wife. After their marriage, they ran a shop in Devon for a brief period before Christopher returned to the stage, starring in Peter O'Toole's production of "Macbeth".
This successful stint on stage led to an offer to appear in the television serial "Emmerdale", a role he has held for an impressive 17 years. Christopher now resides in Nottinghamshire with his family, including his son Ben, born in 1982, and daughter Rebecca, born in 1984.
