Constantine Markoulakis was born in the vibrant city of Athens, Greece, on July 24, 1970. After completing his education at the American College of Athens in 1988, he was accepted into the esteemed Greek National Theater's School of Dramatic Art, where he graduated with the highest honors in 1991. Since then, he has dedicated himself to a steadfast career in theater, film, and television, showcasing his talents in both artistic "off-Broadway" productions and successful mainstream projects.
Throughout his illustrious career, Markoulakis has had the privilege of working alongside renowned directors and actors, including Michael Cacoyannis, with whom he collaborated on the lead role in the Greek National Theater's production of 'Hamlet' in 2003. He has also starred in numerous productions at the 14,000-seat Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, including the critically acclaimed 'Hippolytus'.
In addition to his work in theater, Markoulakis has been selective in his film and television endeavors, choosing projects that align with his artistic vision. His latest television feature is the highly acclaimed 'Yungermann' (2007),a sprawling epic that explores the life of a Russian immigrant in Athens during the first half of the 20th century. His latest film feature is 'Eden Is West' (2009),a multinational production shot in Crete and Europe and directed by the acclaimed Costa-Gavras.
In his personal life, Markoulakis is married to Ersi - Electra Xenakis, with whom he has a son, George - Ikarus, born in June 2005.
