Cory's mother, with a keen intuition, decided to add a week-long acting camp to his summer schedule, sensing that he would greatly enjoy it, and her instincts proved correct. He requested to be enrolled in a class for professional actors, and his mother signed him up at the renowned Arts Umbrella, a world-acclaimed institution. Following six months of study, he asked for an agent, and after a successful audition with the esteemed Trudy Aronson of Webster Talent Management, he landed an agent.
Within a month of becoming a professional, Cory went out for his first audition and aced it. He secured his first acting role on the critically acclaimed and popular series Fargo in 2014 and flew to Calgary to deliver his first lines in sign-language. Shortly after his return to Vancouver, he landed the role of 11-year-old Arden, a younger version of a character played by William Moseley, in the TV movie My Sweet Audrina (2016),based on the novel by renowned author Virginia C. Andrews.
When he secured a recurring role as Aden in the extremely popular TV series The 100 in 2014, he was unsure of what to expect. This role required him to utilize the sword-play skills he had learned in medieval fighting classes, and he found himself part of a group of 14-year-old and younger actors, all of whom held brown or black belts. Filming "The 100" just a year after taking an acting camp was a surreal experience for Cory, which became even more astonishing when he encountered the overwhelming fan response to his character.
Cory also found time to land three commercials, including one as a teen Sasquatch. His mother, however, did not permit him to wander around nearby campgrounds, attempting to scare campers, as it was an area where people practiced target shooting. He also had a guest-starring role on DC's Legends of Tomorrow in 2016, playing the young Per Degaton, who might become one of the most evil super-villains in history.
