Craig Olejnik was born in Halifax, Canada, and spent his formative years in Nova Scotia, where he graduated from high school. His father's career in the Canadian military had a profound impact on his life, and he was deeply moved by his grandfather's experiences as a soldier and prisoner of war in a Polish concentration camp during World War II. After his release, Olejnik's grandparents immigrated to Canada, where they built a new life.
Olejnik's acting career began with a memorable appearance in the 1995 film Margaret's Museum, opposite Helena Bonham Carter, where he played her younger brother in a coal mining family. He has since appeared in a wide range of projects, including the TV series Runaway, Thir13en Ghosts, and Wolf Lake, as well as films and other television shows.
However, it was his breakout role as Toby Logan, a young telepathic, in the popular TV series The Listener that truly launched his career. As the lead character, Olejnik's performance was met with widespread acclaim, and he went on to executive produce the show's fifth and final season.
The Listener was a groundbreaking series that told a compelling narrative over its 65 episodes, concluding its run on a high note with a devoted fan base around the world. The show was licensed in over 120 countries and continues to air in reruns on ION Television in the United States.
Olejnik is a dedicated philanthropist, and has been a long-time supporter of the Sick Kids pediatric foundation, participating in public service announcements and other initiatives to benefit the hospital. He has also been a vocal supporter of Stand Up For Cancer, a cause close to his heart.
In his free time, Olejnik is an avid hockey player and nature enthusiast, and resides in Los Angeles as of 2016.
