Cyril, the son of a skilled tailor, began his journey in the entertainment industry at a remarkably young age, making his first professional appearance on Radio Lyons and Radio Luxembourg at just 12 years old. His early commercials included iconic brands such as O.K. Sauce and Quaker Oats.
After serving in the Army, Cyril pursued his passion for the performing arts by enrolling at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. This marked the beginning of his illustrious career, which would take him to the Guildford rep and eventually the West End.
Cyril's next adventure took him to Hollywood, where he spent two years working for Radio Netherlands as an English announcer, scriptwriter, and producer of programs. His impressive portfolio and versatility soon led him to the BBC Radio Drama Rep, where he spent two years (1952-1954) honing his craft.
Interestingly, Cyril's ancestry was deeply rooted in Polish heritage, and he was a devoted father to three children, Michael, Simon, and Sarah.
