Daisuke "Dice" Tsutsumi, a multifaceted creative force hailing from Japan, has made a name for himself as a talented filmmaker, painter, and philanthropist.
Initially educated at The School of Visual Arts in New York, Dice's professional journey began as a visual development/color key artist at Blue Sky Studios, where he contributed to the acclaimed films Ice Age, Robots, and Horton Hears a Who!
However, it was his subsequent work as a color and lighting art director at Pixar Animation Studios that catapulted him to international recognition. His impressive portfolio includes the iconic films Toy Story 3 and Monsters University.
Beyond his remarkable achievements in the animation industry, Dice is an ardent advocate for charitable causes. He has spearheaded two notable initiatives: The Totoro Forest Project and Sketchtravel.
In addition, Dice, along with his directing partner Robert Kondo, wrote and directed the critically acclaimed animated short film The Dam Keeper, which earned them their first Academy Award nomination.
As a testament to his unwavering passion for storytelling, Dice and Robert Kondo left Pixar in 2014 to establish Tonko House, a new animation studio that has already made a significant impact in the industry.
