Dani Barker is a multifaceted writer and performer whose impressive range of talents has been showcased in her recent feature film Follow Her, in which she stars alongside Luke Cook, under the direction of esteemed Emmy award-winning filmmaker Sylvia Caminer and the cinematography of Academy award-nominated Luke Geissbuhler.
This critically acclaimed film had its world premiere at the prestigious Fantasporto in 2022, where it swept the top awards, earning Dani the coveted Best Actress honor, as well as the Best Film and Audience Award accolades.
Beyond her work on Follow Her, Dani has been the driving force behind numerous other projects, which she has not only written, produced, and starred in, but has also helmed. These projects include the ambitious Starvival, as well as the Unprofessionals, which premiered on TBS, and Squirm, which was produced for Canada's OUTtv.
Demonstrating her versatility as an artist, Dani has an equal passion for both high-drama and low-comedy, and has established herself as a vital member of the Vancouver film community.
When she's not busy acting, producing, or pursuing her creative endeavors, Dani can often be found engaging in thrilling activities, such as walking a highline a thousand feet above ground, or embarking on adventures with her partner, dog, and cat while traveling.
