Daniel was born in Regensburg, Germany, and later relocated to Upstate, New York, where he was raised with dual citizenship of the United States and Germany. His rich German heritage is a result of being the great-great-great-grand nephew of Friedrich Ebert, who served as Chancellor of Germany and First President during the Weimar period.
Daniel's family has a notable history, with his great-granduncle, Helge Peters Pawlinin, being a famous dancer and choreographer who was hunted by the Nazis due to his ambiguous sexual performances. Daniel's grandmother, on the other hand, designed and created gowns for the Nuremberg Opera both before and after World War II.
He is the older sibling of three younger siblings, including a brother named Alexander Beer and two sisters named Andrea Evelyne-Pears and Astrid Ostermeier. After completing high school, Daniel moved to Manhattan to pursue a career in acting.
He quickly made a name for himself in the industry, booking his first feature film, Hell High, just three months after moving to the city. His big break came shortly after, when he landed a lead role in Stephen King's Creepshow 2. At the age of twenty, Daniel became a member of The Actors Studio.
Throughout his career, Daniel has played a wide range of characters, including the unfaithful boyfriend of Julia Roberts in Dying Young, the antagonistic detective opposite Keanu Reeves in Point Break, a killer in The Last Best Sunday, and an angry husband who ends up being a nice guy in the Western Love Finds A Home.
In addition to his acting work, Daniel has also made guest appearances on numerous one-hour television shows and has appeared in music videos, including Michael Jackson's "Who Is It" and Paula Abdul's "Rush Rush."
As a published writer, Daniel's work has been featured in international literary magazines such as 34thParallel, Modern Literature, The Bangalore Review, Nude Bruce Review, and The Lindenwood Review. He has also taught writing seminars at Lancaster State Prison.
In his free time, Daniel enjoys dancing the tango, skiing, boxing, and playing basketball. He was trained by the legendary trainer Freddie Roach and even played in the West 4th Street Summer Pro Basketball League in New York City, where he was offered a try-out to play professional ball overseas.
