Daniel, a Cuban-American veteran of stage and screen, is renowned for his distinctive and intense New York City style. His remarkable career spans decades, with notable roles in films and television shows.
He began his journey in the underground "No-Wave" Film Movement, starring in Amos Poe's Alphabet City (1984) as Juani. Subsequently, he transitioned to theater, landing the National Tour of the hit Broadway Play, Torch Song Trilogy. Daniel has collaborated with a wide range of artists, including theater luminary Herbert Berghof and Oscar-winning screenwriter Bobby Moresco.
As the founder of Veritas Arts International, Daniel wrote and produced his first feature film, Frog Dreams (2011). This critically acclaimed directorial debut won the Spirit of Queens Award at the Queens World Film Festival.
In recent years, Daniel has appeared in a variety of roles, including a man convinced his house is haunted in Before Someone Gets Hurt (2018),a sniveling Pool Hall Owner in Holy Fire (2017),and an immigrant chop shop owner in Lucky (2016).
As a filmmaker, Daniel has continued to pursue his passion, writing and directing the comedy pilot, Brooklyn Vans (2020). This project is set to premiere at the New Filmmakers Film Festival in October 2020 in New York City.
In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Daniel is committed to suicide prevention and has authored several books on subjects such as acting and philosophy.
