Dan's journey in the entertainment industry began with an award-winning career in television, which he subsequently left to pursue his passion for filmmaking at the prestigious American Film Institute Conservatory. Even before graduating from high school, Dan started working as a production assistant on feature films, gaining valuable experience in the industry.
He went on to work in late-night comedy shows, honing his skills as a writer and producer, before establishing himself in sports television. Dan's notable credits include being an associate producer and writer for NBC's coverage of the Athens Olympics and a producer and contributing writer for the short-lived ESPN series "Classic Now".
In 2008, Dan graduated from the American Film Institute Conservatory with a degree in screenwriting. During his time at AFI, he collaborated with writer/director Nick Simon on their thesis film, "The 7th Claus", which was an official selection at the CineVegas International Film Festival.
Upon graduation, Dan co-wrote and co-produced the feature-length film "Removal" with Simon, which premiered at the 2010 AFI FEst and was an official selection at the 2010 Dubai International Film Festival. "Removal" was later picked up for distribution by Lionsgate Films in 2011.
In collaboration with director/producer Alexandre Aja and 20th Century Fox, Dan co-wrote "The Pyramid" with Nick Simon, which is set to release worldwide in 2014/2015. Prior to AFI and his screenwriting career, Dan spent five years working in sports television, concurrently pursuing his bachelor's degree in film production from CUNY Brooklyn College.
