Daniela Vega Hernández, a renowned Chilean transgender actress and lyrical singer, was born in San Miguel, Santiago, Chile, to Igor Vega, a printing owner, and Sandra Hernández, a housewife. She was the first child in the family, and later, her brother Nicolás was born after the family relocated to Ñuñoa.
At the tender age of eight, one of her teachers discovered her exceptional talent for singing opera, which marked the beginning of her journey in the world of arts. She started performing in small productions in Santiago, developing a passion for the arts that would stay with her throughout her life.
After completing high school, Vega Hernández pursued a career in hairstyling, but in her free time, she began to get involved with the local acting scene. Her first notable play was "La mujer mariposa" (The Butterfly Woman),in which she starred.
In 2014, she gained widespread recognition when she appeared in the music video for Manuel García's song "Maria". The same year, she made her film debut in "The Guest". This was just the beginning of her success story.
2017 proved to be a pivotal year in Vega Hernández's career. Her play "Migrantes" was chosen as one of the best at the Festival Teatro a Mil, and she also starred in the Chilean movie "A Fantastic Woman". The film premiered at the 67th edition of the Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin (Berlin International Film Festival) and received widespread critical acclaim. The film went on to win the Best Foreign Language Film award at the 2018 Academy Awards (Oscars).
