Danielle von Zerneck, the founder of Wishing Floor Films, has amassed an impressive portfolio of over a dozen critically acclaimed feature films across various genres, including true crime, young adult drama, satire, and holiday romance. Her dramatic works, such as Poisoned Love: The Stacey Castor Story and No One Would Tell starring Shannen Doherty, have garnered numerous awards and nominations from esteemed organizations like the Writers Guild of Canada, the Directors Guild, Leo Awards, and Canadian Screen Awards.
Danielle has collaborated with notable industry professionals, including writers Bert V. Royal, Eric Gilliland, Nia Vardalos, Fran Drescher, and Barbara Hershey, among others. Her passion for teen-focused projects has resulted in ratings hits, allowing her to tackle relevant and hot button issues, such as mental and physical abuse in high school relationships and revenge-porn scandals.
Danielle has also made a name for herself in the world of Christmas movies, producing LGBTQ-oriented holiday romantic comedies for Lifetime, including The Christmas Set-Up and Under the Christmas Tree, both of which were nominated for Best TV Movie at the 2021 and 2022 GLAAD Awards.
In addition, Danielle has brought together star-studded casts of comedians for her holiday projects. She partnered with SNL alums Rachel Dratch and Ana Gasteyer to produce the Christmas movie send-up, A Clüsterfünke Christmas, for Comedy Central, which received praise for being "needlessly silly and entertaining from start to finish." She is currently in development with Gasteyer and Dratch on a sequel.
Danielle's Audible Original Series, The Cinnamon Bear: A Holiday Adventure, which starred Alan Cumming, Milo Manheim, and Stephen Root, with Ryan Reynolds as Santa Claus, was recognized with a spot on Audible's prestigious "Best of the Year" List in 2021.
Before founding Wishing Floor Films, Danielle gained valuable experience on sets as a young actress, appearing in films like La Bamba and General Hospital, and as the daughter of TV movie producer Frank von Zerneck, who taught her the importance of patience, relationship skills, and the power of craft services.
