Danny Jacobs, born on March 10th, 1982, in St. Louis, Missouri, embarked on a remarkable journey in the world of theater and international relations at Stanford University. This foundation laid the groundwork for his future success as an award-winning actor, writer, and director.
In collaboration with his writing and directing partner, Darren Grodsky, Jacobs made his debut narrative feature film, Humboldt County, which premiered at the 2008 SXSW Film Festival and received official selection. The film boasted an impressive cast, including Jeremy Strong, Chris Messina, Frances Conroy, Fairuza Balk, Brad Dourif, and Peter Bogdanovich.
Humboldt County went on to win the audience award at the Idaho International Film Festival and the Ibiza International Film Festival, and was later released theatrically by Magnolia Pictures in 2008.
Jacobs' sophomore film as a writer/director was Growing Up and Other Lies, in which he starred alongside Adam Brody, Josh Lawson, Amber Tamblyn, and Wyatt Cenac. This film was released theatrically by eOne Entertainment.
As an actor, Jacobs has had the opportunity to work on various projects, including Fox's Bachelor Party 2: The Last Temptation, a sequel to the 1980s hit starring Tom Hanks, alongside Harland Williams (Dumb and Dumber) and Greg Pitts (Office Space).
Additionally, Jacobs played a lead role in Sony Pictures' The Cavern, directed by Olatunde Onsunsamni (The Fourth Kind). He has also made appearances on TV shows such as Masters of Sex, Andi Mack, and On Becoming a God in Central Florida, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
