Darryl Scheelar, a talented individual, was born in Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, to loving parents, Joseph and Doreen Scheelar. His early exposure to the world of acting came in the form of school plays, where he honed his skills and nurtured his creative side. This enthusiasm for the stage was further amplified when he took on the iconic role of the Artful Dodger in a community production of Oliver in 1977.
As Darryl's family relocated back to the Vancouver region of British Columbia during his 11th grade academic year, he persisted in honing his acting skills through participation in school plays, thereby laying the groundwork for a future career in the performing arts.
Meanwhile, while engaging in recreational activities at a local swimming pool, Darryl's natural agility and athleticism caught the attention of a member of the Shasta Trampoline Team, who would later play a pivotal role in introducing him to the world of competitive trampolining.
Darryl's six-year odyssey at the trampoline and tumbling gym was marked by an unwavering dedication to his craft, as he proudly represented Canada on the world stage, taking part in no less than three World Championships as a valued member of their esteemed National Team.
Following his remarkable competitive career, Darryl transitioned seamlessly into the world of trampoline entertainment, captivating audiences at circuses and fairs across Canada and the United States with his awe-inspiring performances.
In 1988, he made his foray into the world of film, securing a coveted role in a Canadian commercial for the esteemed energy corporation, Chevron gasoline.
It was the year 1992 when John Wardlow, the esteemed coordinator of the popular television show Highlander, embarked on a quest to find an acrobat with the exceptional skill of flipping with a sword, a talent that would eventually lead him to the talented Darryl. As fate would have it, the two formed a strong and lasting bond, with John serving as a mentor to Darryl, guiding him into the world of stunts, not only for television, but also for feature films. Following this pivotal period, Darryl returned to his childhood passion of acting, devoting himself to auditioning for an increasing number of productions shot in and around the vibrant city of Vancouver.
As Darryl's professional portfolio continued to grow and flourish, he simultaneously managed to multiply the number of leads he secured for film and television projects, all while consistently keeping his foot in the acting pool. With a wry sense of humor, he often quipped, "I'm busy building an acting resume now, so that when the time comes and I'm no longer inclined to bounce back from the ground, I'll have a valuable asset to fall back on."
