David Born is a native Texan with a rich and diverse career spanning multiple industries. As a veteran character actor, he has made a name for himself in film, television, and stage productions. In addition to his acting credentials, Born is also a licensed auctioneer and an internationally recognized impressionist and stand-up comedian.
Born's journey as an actor began with classical training at the American Conservatory Theatre (A.C.T.) in San Francisco, where he honed his skills under the guidance of renowned acting coaches. He later received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Houston School of Theatre, where he studied extensively with acclaimed instructors Cecil Pickett, Sidney Berger, and Thomas J. Lyttle.
Throughout his career, Born has worked with some of the most esteemed directors and theaters in the industry. He was a contract actor at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas, where he collaborated with Gregory Boyd and Stephen Rayne for six years. Born has also worked with directing legend Woodie King Jr. at the Ensemble and has appeared at Stages Repertory Theatre, Main St. Theatre, and the Houston Shakespeare Festival, among others.
Born's impressive resume includes over 100 regional stage productions, as well as numerous television commercials, corporate/industrial films, radio spots, and anime cartoons. He was awarded the A.I.C.P. Award for "Best Performance In A Television Commercial" in 2000. Moreover, Born has been touring his internationally recognized tribute show for the late Robin Williams across the United States and Canada for many years, a testament to his enduring legacy.
Born is a 5th-generation Texan, and his family's roots lie in both Texas and Louisiana. He has been happily married since 1990 and has two grown children. With his unique ability to play characters specific to both Texas and Louisiana, Born continues to captivate audiences with his impressive range and versatility.
