David embarked upon a journey of national service, serving in the Royal Air Force, where he began to train as a pilot officer, only to discover that his eyesight did not meet the necessary standards. Consequently, he was reassigned to Singapore, where he took on a leadership role, spearheading jungle patrols against terrorists in Malaya in the year 1953.
Subsequently, David transitioned into the world of acting, securing a long-running role as Dr. Nick Williams in the television series "Emergency Ward 10". His passion for storytelling, however, eventually led him to explore the realm of scriptwriting, where he penned scripts for an array of notable productions, including "Black Beauty", "Within These Walls", "Edward the Seventh", "Disraeli", "Lillie", and "We'll Meet Again".
