David's acting career commenced at the tender age of five, when he landed a prominent national Nickelodeon commercial for Sponge Bob. At the age of seven, his impressive break-dancing skills earned him a role in a film directed by Todd Solondz.
A year later, he took on his first leading role in the remake of "The Little Fugitive." This was followed by the critically acclaimed short film "Tracks of Color," where he portrayed a young graffiti artist struggling to pursue his passion despite the fear of disappointing his family. The film's success caught the attention of investors.
At the age of nine, David co-starred alongside John Leguizamo in the movie "Where God Left His Shoes," earning him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Imagen Awards.
David teamed up with John Leguizamo again for the film "Ministers," directed by Franc Reyes and co-starring Harvey Keitel. This role presented the challenging task of playing the younger version of John Leguizamo's twin characters, Dante and Perfecto.
Several pilots followed, including "The Man" created by Anthony Zukier and "Summer Camp" on Nickelodeon, where David played Hailee Steinfeld's love interest. He also appeared in another CBS pilot, "Red Zone," as Reza, a teenager from Algeria.
David's recent film "Forged" won Best Domestic Feature at the New York International Latino Film Festival in 2010 and the Providence Latin Film Festival. He received a second Imagen Best Supporting Actor nomination for his role as Manny in the film "Tio Papi," which also won several festival awards and had a theatrical release.
David had a recurring role as Staten Island Guido, Frankie DeCosmo, in Ice Cube's hit TBS show "Are We There Yet?" When he's not acting, he enjoys playing golf and studying Jiu Jitsu. He is a self-taught pianist and has recently begun his music career as a singer.
David plays a rock and roll singer in the upcoming film "Ruta Madre" and recently released his first original song, "Save Me," written by his singer/songwriter sister Raquel Castro and produced by Donnie Klang, of Making the Band.
One of his favorite roles is playing the head Vampire, Raphael Santiago, in Freeform's "Shadowhunters." He can be seen in Season 2 as Marco Boselli, the heir to the Capellano crime family, in Starz's "Powerbook 'Raising Kanan," premiering on August 14, 2022.
