David Garrick, a renowned stuntman and coordinator, was born in Peckham, south east London, UK. He began boxing at the age of eleven, participating in numerous amateur fights before deciding not to turn professional. Instead, he joined the Army at seventeen, where he continued to box with his regiment.
Throughout his fourteen-year military career, David served with the Parachute Regiment and Special Air Service reserve. After leaving the armed forces, he pursued his childhood dream of becoming a stuntman. His first stunt performance was doubling for Billy Zane in the TV film Cleopatra.
Since then, David has stunt-doubled for many leading actors, including Liam Neeson, Michael Caine, George Clooney, Vin Diesel, Brendan Frazer, and numerous others. He has also appeared in various TV shows and films, such as "Reign of Fire," "The Golden Compass," "Pennyworth," and several Guy Ritchie films.
David's notable roles include playing McMurdo, a bare-knuckle fighter, in "Sherlock Holmes," and Dave, a gangster, in "The Gentlemen." He also doubled for Sir Anthony Hopkins as the werewolf in "The Wolfman," a role that required him to spend at least five hours daily having prosthetics applied by Oscar-winning makeup artists Rick Baker and Dave Elsey.
In 2013, David won the Taurus World Stunt Award for his work on the opening aerial sequence in "Batman: The Dark Knight Rises." He performed an air-to-air ambush between two aircraft, a stunt that had never been attempted before.
As a seasoned stunt coordinator, David has honed his skills over the years, using his expertise to transform stunts into action-packed scenes. He is known for his exceptional communication skills, working closely with directors, producers, and actors to deliver exciting, realistic, and safe action sequences.
