David Gwillim was a prominent actor on British television, enjoying a successful career spanning from the 1970s to the mid-1980s. One of his most notable roles was as Prince Hal in the BBC Shakespeare Television series, specifically in Henry IV Part I (1979),Henry IV Part II (1979),and Henry V (1979),opposite the esteemed Sir Anthony Quayle.
In addition to his work in the Henry IV and Henry V productions, Gwillim also appeared in other prominent television mini-series, such as Anna Karenina (1977),Lillie (1978),Peter and Paul (1981),alongside the renowned Anthony Hopkins, The Barchester Chronicles (1982),opposite the accomplished Donald Pleasence, The Citadel (1983),alongside the talented Daniel Day-Lewis, and Hanlon (1985),for which he received the prestigious New Zealand Television/Film award for best lead actor.
