David's genesis was in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA, where he emerged as the third of four siblings, his early life trajectory marked by an ardent affinity for performance. The nascent years of his career were inaugurated on the local television program "Frank Edwards Presents" at the tender age of five, where his talent was first showcased to the world. Meanwhile, his stage career commenced in a rather unconventional manner at the tender age of seven, when he donned the role of a mechanical toy in the esteemed Royal Danish Ballet.

David's early life was marked by a series of frequent family moves, ultimately resulting in his childhood being spent in Atlanta, Georgia, where he would go on to cultivate his passion for acting and writing by studying at the esteemed Actors and Writers Workshop under the guidance of Walter Roberts, the father of renowned actors Eric and Julia Roberts.

As he entered his teenage years, David's family made yet another significant move, this time relocating to the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area, where he would have the opportunity to immerse himself in the world of performing arts, including his first experiences with the works of William Shakespeare.

David's destiny was rooted in the realm of comedy, a passion that had been germinating within him since his teenage years. During this formative period, he would often find himself lingering in the rear of The Improv comedy club in New York, honing his craft by performing stand-up at any available opportunity, be it at a humble coffee shop or a bustling nightclub.

As he ventured into higher education, David's academic pursuits took him to Temple University in Philadelphia, where he majestically majored in Radio, Television and Film. This illustrious institution would also grant him a coveted scholarship, allowing him to embark on a life-enriching adventure abroad in the Eternal City of Rome, Italy.

As fate would have it, David found himself in the eternal city of Rome, armed with a modest sum of two hundred dollars, a mere fraction of the vast wealth that lay ahead. Undeterred by the limited financial resources at his disposal, David embarked upon a dual career path, honing his skills as a mime in the picturesque Piazza Navona during the day, and spinning tracks as a disc jockey on the English-language radio station, Radio Daily American, under the radiant glow of the night sky.

As his reputation began to spread, David's big break arrived in the form of a show tour of Italy, a journey that would ultimately pave the way for a lucrative recording contract with a prominent record company. The winds of fortune continued to blow in his favor, as David soon found himself rubbing shoulders with the stars of the popular Italian television program "TILT!", a platform that catapulted him to newfound fame and success.

Noteworthy events unfolded in the career of the individual in question, as EMI records seized the opportunity to acquire his contractual rights, subsequently featuring him as a special guest star at the prestigious San Remo music festival. This notable appearance culminated in his record ascending to the top 40 chart rankings, thereby catalyzing a series of performances, television programs, and film appearances.

These professional endeavors included a high-brow theatrical production staged at the renowned La Scala di Milano, as well as a stint as a writer for the Italian adaptation of the popular British political satire program "Spitting Image".

David's professional trajectory took a significant turn in Italy, where he rose to prominence by starring in the live daily program "Pronto Raffaella?", a dynamic and engaging variety/talk show hosted by the renowned Raffaella Carà. As a key contributor to the program, David penned and performed a range of sketches, effortlessly improvising alongside an impressive array of celebrity guest stars.

David's journey took a significant turn in 1989 when he returned to the United States, marking the beginning of a new chapter in his career. His remarkable talent was soon recognized, and he successfully auditioned for a position at the renowned Comedy Store in Hollywood, California.

As his star continued to rise, David tied the knot with his Italian girlfriend in 1991, solidifying his personal life. This milestone was quickly followed by a series of performances in Las Vegas, where he made the rounds of popular American television programs, further increasing his exposure.

In 1993, David made history by becoming the first new comedian to appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, a testament to his exceptional comedic skills and unwavering dedication to his craft.

David's life took a dramatic turn in January 1994, when he and his wife found themselves on the brink of devastation following the Northridge earthquake, which left a trail of destruction in its wake, ravaging almost everything they had worked so hard to build. Amidst the chaos and uncertainty, the couple received an unexpected surprise - they were expecting a new addition to their family, a precious baby on the way.

As if the year couldn't get any more eventful, David received an extraordinary opportunity in June. He was summoned back to Italy to host his own television show, but this time, it wasn't for the Italian audience. Instead, he was chosen to host a program that would be broadcast to a global audience, reaching thirty-five countries across the world, all in English. This was a chance of a lifetime, and David was thrilled to take on the challenge.

The Mr. Zed Show, a long-running television program, enjoyed a remarkable five-year tenure, with various iterations, and even found a new lease on life in the late-night programming slot. During this period, the show consistently outperformed its rival, the Late Show with David Letterman, in its regional broadcast area.

David's career continued to flourish with the launch of The Jack Dee Show from London, marking a significant milestone in his professional journey. Shortly after this notable achievement, a new addition to his family arrived in the form of his second daughter, Marina, born in the year 1997.

Despite his global success, David has chosen to maintain a base in Rome, Italy. This strategic decision allows him to enjoy a more convenient proximity to London, while also sharing a similar distance from Tokyo as he would from Los Angeles. This geographical advantage has undoubtedly facilitated his ability to navigate his international schedule with ease.

In recognition of his exceptional talents, David was awarded the Most Unique Performer Award at the prestigious Tokyo International Comedy Festival in the year 2003. This esteemed honor is a testament to his innovative approach to comedy and his ability to captivate audiences worldwide.

David's impressive career has spanned nine television series, crafted and brought to life in three distinct languages, on four separate continents, with numerous guest appearances woven throughout his extensive repertoire.

A proponent of the idea that "Man does not live by Zed alone," David has deliberately pursued a path of diversification, and as a result, he is now widely recognized for his versatility in straight acting roles.

In the year 2015, David successfully completed two films, one of which was "Blood on Méliès Moon," a cinematic tribute to French film pioneer Georges Méliès. The second film, "In Guerra Per Amore," was an Italian romantic comedy that delicately explored the U.S. invasion of Sicily during World War II, adding another layer of complexity to David's already multifaceted career.
