David McSavage's illustrious career as a Busker began in 1990, as he took to the streets and underground stations of Tokyo, captivating audiences with his soulful renditions of Bob Dylan and Beatles classics. This liberating experience allowed him to effortlessly generate a steady income, freeing him from the shackles of arduous labor.
During his time in Tokyo, David also experienced a profound moment of personal growth, as he lost his virginity to a lovely Japanese woman named Takeo. This pivotal encounter marked a significant turning point in his life, paving the way for the numerous adventures and relationships that would follow.
After a year and a half in Tokyo, David traveled to Amsterdam, where he met the enchanting Hannah Gnat from Poland. Together, they welcomed two precious children into the world: Daniel, born on October 13, 1993, in Ellag, Poland, and Jack, born in 1999 at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Australia.
Although Hannah and David ultimately separated in 2010, they remain close friends, a testament to the enduring bonds of love and friendship.
David's decision to cease busking came when he co-created the acclaimed satirical comedy show, Savage Eye, alongside his comedy cohorts John Colleary, Patrick McDonnell, and Dermot McMurrow, as well as Directors Damien O'Donnell and Kieron Walsh. The show was picked up by RTE in 2009 and went on to enjoy a successful four-series run, with many regarding it as the greatest comedy ever produced in Irish television history.
