David's debut feature film, Under My Skin, was a milestone achievement in his career, as it received a nomination for an Australian Academy Award (AACTA) and an Australian Directors' Guild Award. This remarkable film was released in Australia through Stan, while it was distributed in the United States and Canada through MPX/1091, in the United Kingdom through High Fliers, and is currently available globally.
As a multi-talented individual, David wrote, produced, and directed the short film Picture Wheel, which gained recognition by being screened at prestigious festivals such as Palm Springs, Rhode Island, Cinequest, and Santa Monica. Picture Wheel went on to win the Best Short Film award at the Santa Monica festival and was later acquired by Dustx.
David's work in writing and producing did not stop there. He wrote and produced the dark comedy Love & Dating in LA!, which was showcased at various international film festivals, including Cleveland, HollyShorts, and Santa Monica, where it received the Audience Choice Award. His upcoming feature film, Sons of Salt, received development funding from Screen Australia and was shortlisted for the Australians in Film Gateway Screenwriting Prize.
In addition to his work in the film industry, David has also shared his knowledge and expertise by lecturing on writing and performance at esteemed institutions such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT),Edith Cowan University, and the New York State Summer School for the Arts (NYSSSA).
David's academic background is impressive, as he graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) in 2007. He was also featured as a rising talent in Inside Film's 2022 issue.
