Biography

David Pressler's remarkable journey began in Chicago, where he made his way to Los Angeles at the tender age of 21, immersing himself in the vibrant Theater East Workshop scene of the 1980s.

As his talents flourished, Pressler claimed a prestigious Dramalogue award for his captivating performance in the play "Soldiers" in 1990, shortly after which he began to make his mark on television, appearing in a variety of shows.

Undeterred by the allure of the small screen, Pressler pursued his passion for improvisational comedy, traveling to Santa Barbara to join the ranks of Comedy Sports, a journey that would span nearly a decade.

The early 1990s marked a transformative period in Pressler's career, as he redirected his energies towards character and production design, developing children's programming for multiple networks. His first foray into this realm was with the esteemed Jim Henson Company, where he lent his skills to the production design of "Brats of the Lost Nebula."

The 2000s saw Pressler's artistic prowess in high demand, as he art directed and designed characters for "The Save-Um's" (2002),a critically acclaimed children's program nominated for a daytime Emmy. His versatility was further demonstrated through his work on "Team Smithereen" (2009) for Disney XD.

As the decade drew to a close, Pressler co-created and executive produced the animated series "Robot and Monster" (2012) for Nickelodeon, earning a nod for a daytime Emmy in the process.

In recent years, Pressler has explored the realm of stop-motion animation, directing and producing "How To Do Everything With Garrick and Marvin" (2014) for Dreamworks TV.

Throughout this period of creative exploration, Pressler has remained committed to his improv roots, collaborating with Bernard Rose on a series of independent films, including "The Kreutzer Sonata" (2007),"Boxing Day" (2009),"2 Jacks" (2011),and Rose's reimagining of Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" (2015).
