Biography

David Rambo is a multifaceted creative professional with a background in screenwriting, producing, and playwriting. Born and raised in rural Pennsylvania, he relocated to New York City at the age of 18 to pursue his passion for acting, simultaneously working as a bar pianist to support himself financially.

Throughout his early career, David appeared in various off-off Broadway productions and summer stock shows, eventually landing a breakout role as the star of the ABC musical-comedy pilot "The Best of Times" alongside Nicolas Cage and Crispin Glover. However, as he grew older and aged out of his teen roles, David discovered a newfound interest in writing and began crafting plays while continuing to work in real estate to make ends meet.

His play "God's Man in Texas" premiered at the prestigious Humana Festival of New American Plays at Actors Theatre of Louisville, quickly becoming one of the most produced titles in the country. A production at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles caught the attention of William Petersen, star of the hit TV show "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," who subsequently sought to add a playwright to the show's writing staff.

David was hired to write a freelance script, "Butterflied," which aired on January 15, 2004, and immediately became a fan favorite. This experience led to his being hired as a writer and producer on the series for six more seasons. Since leaving "CSI" in 2010, David has maintained a prolific career in television, with credits including the premiere season of "Empire" and "Dolly Parton's Mountain Magic Christmas," a highly-rated holiday movie on NBC/Peacock.

In addition to his work in television, David continues to write plays, including a one-woman show about Ann Landers, "The Lady With All the Answers," which ran off-Broadway starring Judith Ivey, as well as adaptations of several classic screenplays for live performance, such as "All About Eve," "Sunset Boulevard," "Adam's Rib," and "Casablanca."

David serves on the board of The Entertainment Community Fund and chairs its Western Council, demonstrating his commitment to supporting the entertainment industry and its professionals.
