Davis Gaines is a renowned American actor, singer, and director, with a prolific career spanning over four decades. Born and raised in Orlando, Florida, he is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Florida State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre.

Gaines has performed in numerous Broadway productions, including Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera," where he played the title role over 2,000 times, and Stephen Sondheim's "Assassins." He has also appeared in various national tours, Off-Broadway productions, and regional theatre productions.

Some of his notable roles include Raoul in "The Phantom of the Opera," Cornelius Hackl in "Hello, Dolly!," King Arthur in "Camelot," and Javert in "Les Miserables." He has also appeared in various concert productions, including "Parade," "Sitting Pretty," and "The Cat and the Fiddle."

Gaines has received numerous awards and nominations for his performances, including the Bay Area Critics' Award for Best Actor, the Ovation Award, and the BroadwayWorld Award. He has also been recognized for his contributions to the arts, including being inducted into the Edgewater High School Hall of Fame and receiving the 1996 John Young Award from the Greater Orlando Chamber of Commerce.
