Daya Vaidya's impressive career in the entertainment industry has been marked by her ability to seamlessly transform into a wide range of dynamic characters, captivating audiences with her versatility and talent.
As a seasoned actress, Daya has starred in numerous projects, including six seasons as the cunning and ambitious Jen Kowski on Amazon's hit thriller/drama series "Bosch," based on the best-selling novels by Michael Connelly. Her recent work includes a major recurring arc on "Superman and Lois," where she brought the DC Comics super villain Onomatopeoia to life.
In addition to her current projects, Daya has appeared in critically acclaimed films and television shows, such as "Unforgettable," "Major Crimes," "Castle," "Twisted," "Two and a Half Men," and "Dexter." She has also worked behind the scenes with her husband, actor/writer/producer Don Wallace, whom she met on the set of the award-winning indie film "Blue."
Daya's passion for the arts began at a young age, when she began dancing under the tutelage of Oakland Ballet's artistic director Ron Guidi. By the age of 11, she was performing with the prestigious Bay Area Youth Theater, playing iconic roles such as Anita in West Side Story and Tzeital in "Fiddler on the Roof."
Daya attended UCLA, where she majored in Dance before taking a sabbatical to dance on scholarship with the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York City. She eventually returned to UCLA, switching her major to Theater and earning a BFA in Theater Arts. Daya has since starred in numerous regional theater productions, including the west coast premiere of Jose Rivera's "Marisol."
After graduating, Daya began auditioning for film, dance, and television projects, and has been working steadily ever since. In addition to her acting career, Daya is a vocal peace activist, advocating for social justice, diversity in Hollywood, and women's rights. She is also a two-time breast cancer survivor, promoting breast cancer awareness and research.
As a multi-racial woman, Daya is proud of her South Asian Gujurati and Italian-Spanish heritage, and continues to use her platform to promote diversity and inclusion in the entertainment industry.
