Debra, a native of Texas, excelled in multiple extracurricular activities during her high school years, showcasing her athleticism as a track runner, her spirit as a cheerleader, and her popularity as the homecoming queen. Following her high school graduation, Debra pursued her passion for the performing arts by attending the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York.
In her early twenties, Debra took on a new challenge by working as an airline attendant. However, she soon returned to the spotlight by making a brief appearance in the horror film Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation in 1994.
Debra's foray into professional wrestling began in 1995 when she joined World Championship Wrestling (WCW),where she became the queen of the ring and managed the talented Steve McMichael, also known as "Steve Mongo McMichael." Her impressive skills and charisma earned her the nickname "the queen of WCW."
In 1998, Debra made the transition to World Wrestling Federation/World Wrestling Entertainment (WWF/WWE),where she managed the charismatic Jeff Jarrett and was affectionately nicknamed "the puppies" by the legendary Jerry Lawler, also known as "Jerry the King Lawler." Debra's remarkable career continued to flourish as she went on to win the WWF Women's Championship from the formidable Rena Lesnar, also known as "Sable," in an epic evening gown match.
Debra held the championship title for five weeks before relinquishing it to the determined Lisa Moretti, also known as "Ivory," following a lengthy feud. Her outstanding performance earned her the prestigious Manager of the Year award in both 1999 and 2000.
In addition to her wrestling accomplishments, Debra also made a notable appearance as a presenter at the 1999 Teen Choice Awards. However, her personal life took a tumultuous turn when she faced challenges in her marriage to Steve Austin, leading her to eventually leave the wrestling world for good in 2003.
Debra's post-wrestling career saw her make a small but memorable appearance in the 2006 film Just Another Romantic Wrestling Comedy. Despite her departure from the wrestling world, Debra's remarkable legacy continues to inspire and entertain fans to this day.
