Derek Nimmon, a renowned individual, was born in Liverpool in the year 1930. Prior to embarking on a career in acting, he held a multitude of occupations, one of which was serving as a sales manager in a paint factory. He made his stage debut at the esteemed Bolton Repertory in 1951, subsequently transitioning to various repertory theatres throughout the country, including Worcester, Oldham, Rotherham, Crewe, Clacton, and Nottingham.
For a brief period, he worked as an agent for the illustrious Al Martino, as well as a comic feeder for renowned comedians Arthur Haynes, Peter Brough, and Archie Andrews. He made his West End debut in the production 'Room For Two', followed by notable appearances in 'Waltz of the Toreadors', 'How Say You', 'The Amorous Prawn', 'Charlie Girl', 'See How They Run', and 'The Irregular Verb to Love'.
Derek Nimmon's television career was marked by his prominent roles in popular series such as 'All Gas and Gaiters' and 'Oh, Brother', among others. His film credits include his debut appearance in the Sophia Loren film 'The Millionairess' (1960),followed by numerous other cinematic ventures.
Beyond his work in the entertainment industry, Nimmon was a prolific writer, penning several books, including 'Not in Front of the Servants' and 'As the Actress Said to the Bishop'.
