Anderson's acting career began when he played the role of 3-year-old Glenn in the 1993 film "Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould". He went on to appear in the BBC's long-running soap opera "EastEnders" as Billie Jackson, a character he portrayed for 101 episodes from 1993 to 2010, until his character's untimely death in October 2010.
In addition to his work on "EastEnders", Anderson has appeared in a variety of other films and television shows. In 1997, he played one of the winners who accidentally fell into a river during a video shoot in the film "Spiceworld". He also appeared in the 2002 drama "The Greatest Store in the World" as David, and in the 2002 film "Thunderpants" as Dan.
Anderson's early work in television included a role as Pete, the friend of the main character Mark, in the CBBC series "Ace Lightning" in 2002. In 2003, he starred as Taj Lewis, the lead character, in the CBBC sitcom "Kerching!". He also appeared as Sonny Valentine in Channel 4's "Hollyoaks" in 2006, and made guest appearances on "TMi" and "Doctors" in 2008.
In 2009, Anderson starred as Kian Oduya in the murder mystery series "Who Killed Summer", which followed six young characters as they traveled through Europe and the UK. He also appeared in the 2012 production "Concrete Jungle", and starred as Jamil, the brother of Sinbad, in the BBC series "Sinbad" for one season from July to September 2012.
More recently, Anderson appeared in one episode of the BBC medical drama "Casualty" in December 2018, playing the role of a homeless man named Robby Watts.
