Dimitri Diatchenko, a native of San Francisco, began his educational journey at Newton North High School in Newton, Massachusetts. He then pursued a scholarship music student program at Stetson University in Deland, Florida, where he majored in classical guitar.
Upon completing his Bachelor's program, Diatchenko continued his studies at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, focusing on acting and music in the Master's program. His first acting experience was as the lead in the play "Foxfire" by Hume Cronin, where he portrayed the country music star Dillard Nations.
Throughout the 1990s, Diatchenko developed his acting skills through various projects in Florida, including award-winning short films such as "Third on a Match," "Used Cars," and "Goiter Boy." He also studied with renowned instructors Ken Stilson and George Judy.
In April 1996, as Diatchenko was graduating with his Master's degree from Florida State University, he secured a small role as a Navy Seal in Ridley Scott's film "G.I. Jane," starring Demi Moore. This break led Diatchenko to relocate to Los Angeles, marking the beginning of his professional acting career.
In addition to his acting endeavors, Diatchenko continues to perform as a master classical guitarist. He has released four solo guitar CDs and composed an original piece, "Tango en Paraiso," which is featured on the soundtrack of his film "Remarkable Power." Mel Bay Publications has also published this piece in the "Master Anthology of New Classic Guitar Solos, Vol. 1."
Diatchenko has also contributed to the soundtracks of films he has starred in, including "Clubhouse" and "Repossessed." Additionally, he has performed an arrangement of Hungarian Dance No. 5 by J. Brahms with a Django gypsy jazz treatment in the film "Repossessed."
