Dimitri Logothetis, a visionary filmmaker, entrepreneur, and leader, embarked on an extraordinary journey that began at the tender age of six when he immigrated to America with his parents. He grew up in Los Angeles, where he developed a passion for sports, specifically football, and honed his skills at high school in the South Bay.
Dimitri's academic pursuits led him to Loyola Marymount University, where he earned a Master's degree in Film and Television. During his time at Loyola, he produced and directed a short film, "Call Me Kaiser," which garnered widespread acclaim, winning seven national and international film festivals.
As a seasoned director and writer, Dimitri has excelled in various genres, including drama, thrillers, and comedies. His impressive body of work includes feature films, television shows, and documentaries. In addition to his artistic endeavors, Dimitri has demonstrated exceptional business acumen, founding three companies and managing hundreds of employees worldwide.
Throughout his illustrious career, Dimitri has achieved numerous milestones, including his presidency at Motion Pictures for Kings Road Entertainment, where he oversaw the production of films like "Kickboxer" and "The Big Easy." He has also developed several Kings library projects as remakes, further solidifying his reputation as a master filmmaker.
In 2020, Dimitri created a brand-new science fiction martial arts film franchise, "Jiu Jitsu," which debuted on Netflix and became a global phenomenon, starring Nicholas Cage, Alain Moussi, Tony Jaa, and Marie Avgeropoulos. The film's success was marked by its impressive performance, ranking #4 on Netflix in the US during its initial release.
Dimitri's reboot of the iconic "Kickboxer" film franchise was met with widespread acclaim, featuring a star-studded cast, including Jean-Claude Van Damme, Christopher Lambert, and major MMA fighters like George St. Pierre and Fabricio Werdum. The film received rave reviews, with "Kickboxer Retaliation" boasting a 92% critical approval rating and an 84% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.
As an award-winning filmmaker, Dimitri has had the privilege of working on several significant projects, including the documentary "Momo, The Sam Giancana Story," which won the Monaco Film Festival in 2013. He has also served as Executive Producer/Showrunner for two Warner Brothers TV series, developing and Executive producing Stephen King's "Sleepwalkers" for Columbia Pictures.
