Don Knodel's innate passion for entertainment and storytelling has been a defining aspect of his life since he could take his first steps and form coherent sentences. As a graduate of the University of British Columbia, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film & Television, Don's background in musical theater laid the foundation for his aspirations to pursue a career in acting and filmmaking.
Inspired by the timeless comedy of Laurel & Hardy at the tender age of six, Don's fascination with the world of cinema only intensified as he grew older. By the time he was nine, his best friend's discovery of an old 8mm movie camera in his parents' closet had ignited a creative spark that would propel him towards a lifelong journey in the entertainment industry.
As a multi-talented individual, Don has worn many hats throughout his illustrious career. He has not only acted, written, produced, and directed his own feature films but has also worked behind the scenes in various capacities, including production assistant, assistant director, location manager, and production manager. Over the course of his three-decade-long tenure in the Vancouver Film Industry, Don has had the privilege of working on numerous productions, mostly from Hollywood, and has developed a keen understanding of the intricacies of the film-making process.
Through his production company, Iceberg Pictures Inc., Don is currently developing several film projects, each one a testament to his unwavering dedication to his craft. His impressive body of work includes the feature film "Man Without A Name," which received widespread critical acclaim and earned numerous awards and nominations, including "Best Foreign Feature," "Grand Jury Selection for Best Actor," and "Best Indie Auteur" at the Bare Bones International Film Festival 2004.
Don's other notable film, "Embedded," was recognized for its outstanding narrative at the Lighthouse International Film Festival and was also nominated for "Best Ensemble Cast" at the Orlando Film Festival 2012. With his extensive experience, versatility, and creative vision, Don Knodel remains an integral part of the film industry, constantly pushing the boundaries of his craft and inspiring a new generation of artists and filmmakers.
