Doug Murphy is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Corus Entertainment Inc., a leading Canadian-based media and content company with a diverse portfolio of multimedia offerings. This extensive portfolio includes 33 specialty television services, 39 radio stations, 15 conventional television stations, a suite of digital assets, a full-service social digital agency, animation software, technology, and media services.
As a prominent player in the industry, Corus is an established creator of globally distributed content through its animation studio, Corus Studios, and children's book publishing house, Kids Can Press. The company also owns a full-service social digital agency, so.da, and lifestyle entertainment company, Kin Canada. In 2016, Doug led the company's transformational acquisition of Shaw Media.
With over 25 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry, Doug has held numerous senior management positions at Corus Entertainment Inc. He joined the company in 2003 and has been responsible for overseeing various divisions. Prior to his current role, Doug served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, where he was responsible for the company Radio's and Television divisions.
Before joining Corus, Doug spent ten years with the Walt Disney Company in a variety of senior executive positions in Canada, the United States, and Japan. Doug is a member of the Business Council of Canada and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and an HBA from the Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario.
