Dwayne Cameron was born on October 28, 1981, in Auckland, New Zealand. He began his career at a young age, starring in the cult TV series The Tribe (1999) and completing 156 episodes by the time he was 18.
Dwayne's early success led to roles in various films, including 211 (2018) with Nicolas Cage, McLaren (2017) with Guy Pearce, and Nice Package (2016). He also appeared in TV shows such as Mercy Peak (2001) and Street Legal (2000).
In 2004, Dwayne moved to Los Angeles and trained at the Stella Adler Academy. He also trained with Ivana Chubbuck and at the Actors Studio in Sydney, Australia, and the Michael Chekhov and Stanislavski technique in Auckland, New Zealand.
Dwayne has continued to work in the industry, landing lead roles in numerous TV dramas, including Shortland Street (1992) and Agent Anna (2013). He has also appeared in a number of art house films, including A Dream... (2012) and June (2015),which he wrote, directed, produced, edited, and starred in.
Throughout his career, Dwayne has worked with over 50 directors on 250 episodes of internationally selling TV series, including Mr & Mrs Murder (2013) and Legend of the Seeker (2008). He has also appeared in a number of music videos and has written, directed, produced, edited, and starred in several of his own short films through his production company, Dancing Mind Films.
